William M. White

white[1].jpgDr. William M. "Bill" White was appointed to the West Virginia Board of Education in November 2010 for a nine-year term ending in 2019.
White is the former dean of Mountain State University's School of Graduate Studies in Beckley. He is the founder and CEO of The Management Development Group, a California corporation that specialized in organization development consulting.  
 
He is a graduate of Bluefield State College in Bluefield, W.Va., with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and mathematics. He earned a doctorate in leadership and change from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, Calif. He also holds a graduate certificate in management and leadership from Harvard University. His professional career has included work as a research chemist and executive in the pharmaceutical industry as well as several leadership positions in higher education. 
 
White served six years as president of the University of Southern California's corporate advisory board for the industrial social work concentration for the Graduate School of Social Work and worked for more than 15 years as an adjunct professor and course designer for the University of California at Davis.
 
White, a Bluefield resident, is the father of a son.
