Robert Dunlevy

​Member, State Board of Education 

Robert William Dunlevy is a graduate of West Virginia University (WVU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. As a student at WVU, he was a member of the football team. After graduating, he went on to play professional football for the Dallas Cowboys and semi-pro football for the Wheeling Ironmen.

From 1985 to 2005, Mr. Dunlevy was an elected member of the Ohio County Board of Education and served as its president from 2003-2005. In 2005, he was appointed to the State Board of Education and served in that capacity until 2014. He was appointed to serve a second term by Governor Jim Justice in November 2018.

He retired from Lincoln Manufacturing of Houston, Texas in 2014 after 17 years of service. He completed 25 years of service on the Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley board in 2017 and most recently served as board chairman.

Mr. Dunlevy and his wife Connie live in Wheeling and have three children and six grandchildren.
