Tom Minturn was appointed to the School Building Authority of West Virginia by Governor Jim Justice on October 31, 2022, with a term ending July 31, 2025.  

Tom grew up in the mountains of West Virginia as the son of a pastor. He received his undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian Bible College. He furthered his education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where he received two Masters Degrees: MA in Religion with an emphasis in Counseling and a Masters in Religious Education. Tom started with Chick-fil-A in Lynchburg, VA, as an assistant manager, and worked his way into a General Manager position. He then moved with Chick-fil-A to Grand Junction, CO, where he worked as a GM. Following his time in Colorado, he worked for Chick-fil-A corporate as an interim store manager in Cleveland, OH. Tom moved back to WV in the fall of 2011 to take ownership of the Chick-fil-A at Southridge. Tom enjoys reading, running, working out, and watching sports (especially college basketball and football). Tom, his wife Jen, and daughters Addalyn and Lillian reside here in Charleston.​
