Tommy Young

​Assistant Director of Architectural Services

Tommy Young serves as an Assistant Director of Architectural Services at the School Building Authority of West Virginia.  Tommy previously worked for the SBA from 1998 to 2007 as an Assistant Director and joined the staff again in the same role in February 1, 2021.  Throughout his career, Tommy has overseen the design and construction of numerous PreK-12 schools throughout the state. 

Tommy is a native of Sissonville and is a graduate of Sissonville High School.  Tommy proudly served our country for 20+ years in the United States Marine Corps and in the West Virginia Air National Guard where he retired in 2006.  In addition to his experience at the SBA, Tommy worked in the private sector for two Architectural / Engineering firms and for a Construction company.  He also served as Marketing Director for the West Virginia Lottery and Executive Director of the Office of School Facilities & Transportation at the West Virginia Department of Education.

Tommy resides in Winfield with his wife Stella.
